Thai Massage, sometimes referred to as Thai Yoga Massage originated in the temples of Thailand many centuries ago. It is a dynamic massage based on yoga, Ayurveda and the soft martial arts. It is a comprehensive full body treatment that relieves muscular tension, improves breathing patterns and circulation and balances the body energetically.

Thai yoga massage concentrates on ten important lines called sen, or energy lines. These are very similar to the nadis (‘prana rivers’) in Indian or Tibetan yoga, and share many likenesses to the meridians in shiatsu.

The massage is physical, but meditative, where the masseur counterbalances and levers the receiver’s body with his own. We work with breath, gravity and directed touch (palming and thumbing) to create a harmonious and deeply therapeutic ‘dance’, the results of which are physical vibrancy, grace, calm, clarity and spiritual energy.

Massage is received fully clothed, on a mat on the floor. Treatments are tailored to you and, if necessary, specific areas of concern can be addressed, for example backache, neck, hip or knee problems and so on. A general treatment will usually last around 1.5 hours (but could be 2 hours or longer).

I will travel to you to give massage. Cost varies depending on distance. At present best days for availability are Tuesdays, Fridays and some Sundays. In and around West London cost begins at £65, which includes a donation to charity. For your assurance and ‘peace of mind’ you may wish have your partner spouse or friend attend the massage.
